I don't nap. I take a ten-minute rest. That's the difference, and it matters, because a nap is a commitment and a rest is not, and I have a system around that, and the system is good, and the system is also this.
You set a timer for ten minutes. That's the deal. I set it for ten, and I woke up with four on it, which is a good amount of time. I didn't feel great, but I felt like I'd been asleep a while, and that's more than a lot of people can say.
The second time I set it for ten, I woke at four, and I lay back down without counting, and I opened my eyes an hour later. The timer had gone off at ten, and I don't know what happened after that.
My wife said I slept for an hour, and I said, I rested for ten and then I lay there, and that's not the same thing, and I'd like it to stop being a thing.
Now I set it for five. And five works, I think, or five gets me to two, which is close, and being close is the whole thing. I'm not in it for the sleep. I'm in it for the honesty. That's the difference.
